Even though the official Playstation blog did announce God of War 4L Ascension, they never actually mentioned the release date for it.

Thanks god we have online retailers that couldn’t care less about it and put the information available for the public right away in their product page, yes, we are talking about Amazon.

What We Know About God of War: Ascension.

There you go, Amazon seems not to need any approval from Sony to reveal the exact release date for God of War: Ascension being December 31, 2013. If that’s accurate, we think it would be quite too late to release such a huge title for the PS3 given that the PS4 is being released on 2014. The title is priced at $59 and future shop lists it with the same price as well.

Finally, 3 years after the release of GoW III, a brand new title in the GoW franchise has been unveiled, entitled God of War: Ascension.

According to Sony Facebook page, this is clearly a prequel, which might be the reason why they didn’t call it GoW IV instead.

No official release date has been given so far.

What We Know About God of War: Ascension.

First of all, the facebook post and trailer clearly say that GoW Ascension is coming to PS3. Will there be a version for PS Vita?, not official statement so far on that.

Both the intro narration (made by the same lady that did the voice of the titan Gaia) and the description clearly describe events previous to all God of War games, including Chains of Olympus and Ghost of Sparta. What Kratos was doing before pledging allegiance to Ares was basically leading the spartan army and storming villages, that will be the storyline of God of War: Ascension, Kratos’ journey to become a slave of the Gods just to later kill them all.

Amazon actually leaked the trailer and box art before Sony published the announcement on their facebook page. Amazon’s page for GoW: Ascension has been taken down after that.

An IGN user has posted a picture to the forums that shows one more time how hiddeous BT Games can be when promoting games that have not been officially announced (check photo below).

This picture was taken BT Games in Johannesburg, South Africa at the Cresta Shopping Centre, and they didn’t even take the time to create a more serious poster, since they used a fake GoW 4 logo that has been on the internet for more than 2 years. A huge call-to-action slogan reads “PRE ORDER”. We wonder if Sony even allows this type of promos from retailers….

But wait there’s more, they even category God of War 4 as a “shooter”….which clearly shows they have no idea what they are even promoting.

Not The First Time…..

This is not the first time that BT Games has taken pre-orders of God of War 4 without Sony’s official confirmation, this time however, they’ve gone a step further by grabbing a fake God of War 4 logo long time available on the internet and use it in their promo posters. Shame on you BT Games !!!!
